The Revolution of the Socket

As we can see, the types of charging devices are increasing. The phones need to be charged, the cars need to be charged, electricity is becoming the main power source in our daily life. Depending on this, we need different types of charging devices to refill our gadgets. A well known device is charging socket.

When i was young, my mother stopped me when i try to touch the sockets. This frightened thing scared me until i saw the sockets are everywhere. The first few generations of socket are less safer than now. So let’s have a look on the revolution of sockets.

This black one was utilized in 1950. At that time, people have to put the screws onto the wall and connect the wire by themselves.

You must have seen this kind of televisions. They are old but are widely used in 1970-1980. People are still using the sockets above. Interesting, people would hide the sockets by some barriers. The plugs of tv wouldn’t be pulled out until years later.

Huawei P10 is Coming Out

Lewis Hilsenteger receives and unboxes products every day. No exception this time. But hours ago he carried a super big box in his Unbox Therapy channel, ready to go over with it. He started to crack the box to see what’s in there.

The manufaturer who sent him the box even printed a logo with Unbox Therapy. This get Lew amazed like what he said, “This smells fresh.” Then he discovered the Huawei P10 inside. Huawei prepared a great stuff with great package for Lew. Both of the wood box and the P10’s package are magnetic.

In terms of the P10 itself. We don’t find out a big difference of the appearance comparing with its former devices. The sim tool is stunning. You can have 2 sim cards together either or you can have one sim card and a micro sd card. A phone case is included so you don’t have to buy another one. When he switched on the P10, the fingerprint setting is following up with it. A highlight of this P10 is, you can’t imagine how fast it unlocks with your fingerprint. It’s just like, you touch the fingerprint sensor very slightly, a little knock on it and it unlocks the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date

People is concentrating on the coming Samsung Galaxy S8’s trailer more than the 2 tablets from Samsung in the latest MWC. As what we expected, they announced a new unpacked conference will be held on March 29th, in New York. How will this new generation of Samsung perform? We will get an answer after a month.

MotherBox: May Support the First Wave of Wireless Charging?

The famous Youtuber Marques Brownlee said many times,” wireless charging must be one of the most stunning and most demanded feature of a smartphone.” Exactly. Plus, any electronic device will become a super winner if they can live without an adapter. But, how far actually do this charging skill achieve?

Magical, pure wirelessly charging seems a milestone that we can’t arrive even in next few years. But the wireless charging is developing even though it need some mediums to perform. Charging pad or inductive charger are the classic options. To be honest, this revolution makes it more convenient.

The MotherBox, a company and another company behind The MotherBox named Yank Tech, promised that they owned the special ability. A flash point is, smartphones can be charged by a 2 watt battery resource in 20 inches away. The power is increasing as the distance is smaller. In 15 to 10 inches, the MotherBox supplies 4W. In 8 to 5 inches, the MotherBox supplies 8W. 10W it supplies when the distance is smaller than 5 inches.

Of course, the MotherBox is not a flawless one. The truncated icosahedron shaped main body is required to be plugged in. A smaller one is being created, at the expence of far more limited range. This extraodinary tech gadget can’t work without a receiver with the phone, either.

All of the above are emphasizing that the MotherBox is surely useful. Yank Tech disclosed the crowdfunding for one of their hardware products from a new company. Therefore, the price will be back to $79 in Indiegogo if people believe the MotherBox’s ability. Yank Tech hopes to ship the first wave of products in September later this year.

Apple Determined the Time of WWDC, The Venue Changed

Apple Inc announced the date and venue of WWDC 2017. It will be held on June 5th – 9th. The venue has changed to McEnery conference center in San Jose.

This is the 28th WWDC from Apple inc. It is only a few minutes away from the new headquarter of Apple in Kubitino.

Actually this is not the first time that Apple changed their conference center. In the last year, the participants obviously increased so they had to change a center to accomodate them. Apple gave up the Moscone West conference center, which is rent for 10 years long. Bill Graham Civic Auditorium hall in San Francisco is replaced to be the new one.

In 1983, the first WWDC was rising of a curtain. People validated the appearance of graphic interface PC named Apple Lisa. After a long period of time, WWDC will always update Apple’s operating systems and will release some hardwares. iPhone 4 and Macbook Pro that equipped with Retina screen were appeared at 2010’s WWDC and 2012’s WWDC.

In the latest 3 years, WWDC slowly transformed to a conference for softwares only but not hardwares. In WWDC this year, no surprisingly we will see the iOS 11 or iPad or iPhone, the macOS for computer, the tvOS for Apple’s set-top box and the new watchOS.

Plus, we will see the update of Apple’s systems from the categories like Home, Health and Car, all of them are composed of programming language such as Swift, HomeKit, HealthKit and CarPlay.

Apple updated the rules for participants too. Developers have to draw numbers to participate into the conference, which is different from the rules before. Apple won’t return developers with iPhones or iPads. They would like to help the developers to solve their problems by communicating with Apple’s engineers.

Rumor: Apple 10 Anniversary Smartphone is Upper Than $1000

Apple is reportedly to pull the curtains for its quantity limited 10th Anniversary iPhone in this year, in addition to the normal update of hardwares. This indicates that the tech giant will release 3 new phones in this year. They are iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s plus and iPhone 8. iPhone 8 is reportedly to utilize a 5.8 inch bezel-less OLED screen, and will be featured with purely new functions. Oculus is Going to Shut down 200 Experience Stores

Oculus, one of the VR subsidiaries of Facebook created about 500 free demo stations in Bestbuy. The purpose is to allow customers to exprience the Oculus Rift. A latest report indicates, about 200 of them closed, resulted from the fact that consumers lack interest.

The staffs from the stations said that they weren’t able to find a chance to play the demonstration even though in several days. Because of this, Oculus plans to close a huge number of the stations in its agenda. However, Bestbuy will still sell VR headsets in the future.

Rift was officially on sale in the last year but the business is still parking at the early stage. The headsets are bulky. 3 years ago, Facebook spent 3 billion to purchase Oculus Rift. Mr Zuckerberg believed that 10 years are a must for customers to adapt to VR. Last week, Facebook announced quarterly earnings. Zuckerberg indicated, they are still maintaining the original attitude to VR and he hoped the customers keep patient.

92% Profit Belongs to Apple from Smartphone World

In the fourth quarter of 2016, iPhone sales amount achieved 18% from all the smartphone market while it’s profit achieved 92% from the whole industry, reported by Canaccord Genuity at Tuesday in this week.

All along, a big head of the profit is occupied by Apple. Sometimes the figure will beyond 100% when some other smartphone institutions are suffering from financial loss.

There are 6 main smartphone companies. 4 of them won in the smartphone market in the fourth quarter. They are Apple, Samsung, Sony and Blackberry. Samsung got the 9% profit from the whole market. Only 1% for Sony and less than 1% for Blackberry. Some suffered financial loss, such as LG and Microsoft.

Michael Walkley, an analyst from Canaccord, deemed the good performance of iPhone 7 Plus and the recycle of Note 7 did good to Apple.

In today’s trading time, the stock of Apple rose up 1%. The price increased to 131.53 USD. On the May of 2015, the stock price increased to 134.54 USD, which is the highest point of the price in the history. At Last month, the stock price suddenly started rising from the initial 118.12 USD.

Walkley rated the price as “buy”, adjusted the target price from 142 USD to 154 USD.

A New MFi Certified But Not A New Port

Lately, MFi program released a new connection port named Ultra Accessory Connector (UAC), used for connecting devices like earphones and mics.

Prior to this, MFi certified ports include Lightning and USB-C etc. The new Ultra Accessory Connector has 8 pins, with a dimension of 2.05mm x 4.85mm, which is smaller than Lightning and USB-C.

The new type of connection port UAC is designed for the earphone cable. Peripheral manufacturers widely use this skill to transfer Lightning, USB-A and 3.5mm port into UAC. It can also offer the battery charging feature and audio transmission. The famous Beats will probably take this into its headsets.

However, UAC is not a pure new standard even though its been widely used in digital cameras and other peripherals. Apple informed the media that adding the new UAC port is a command from iPhone licensing program but not a behavior to promote it for replacing the old one. Furthermore, some sources said that Apple hasn’t replaced Lightning and USB-C.

Everytime of releasing the new connection port is a huge revolution that will probably bring commercial opportunities in this giant comany. From the original 30 pins connection port of iPhone 4, developing to Lightning, then to 3.5mm port and USB-C. This is not only Apple’s business, but also a replacement of the industrial chain dynasty.
