In the fourth quarter of 2016, iPhone sales amount achieved 18% from all the smartphone market while it’s profit achieved 92% from the whole industry, reported by Canaccord Genuity at Tuesday in this week.
All along, a big head of the profit is occupied by Apple. Sometimes the figure will beyond 100% when some other smartphone institutions are suffering from financial loss.
There are 6 main smartphone companies. 4 of them won in the smartphone market in the fourth quarter. They are Apple, Samsung, Sony and Blackberry. Samsung got the 9% profit from the whole market. Only 1% for Sony and less than 1% for Blackberry. Some suffered financial loss, such as LG and Microsoft.
Michael Walkley, an analyst from Canaccord, deemed the good performance of iPhone 7 Plus and the recycle of Note 7 did good to Apple.
In today’s trading time, the stock of Apple rose up 1%. The price increased to 131.53 USD. On the May of 2015, the stock price increased to 134.54 USD, which is the highest point of the price in the history. At Last month, the stock price suddenly started rising from the initial 118.12 USD.
Walkley rated the price as “buy”, adjusted the target price from 142 USD to 154 USD.
